movierok isn't just a website

every application can make usage of the information movierok provides by using our open webservices.

feel free to develop your own client and let us know about it so we can list it on this page.

• Firefox Extension

  The official movierok client comes as a Firefox Extension.

  It's open source and developed by the movierok team.

  Features

  • scan harddisk for moviefiles
  • synchronize with movierok.org
  • collect metainfo (e.g. codec) from moviefiles
  • play movies directly form movierok.org

  Installation

  1. open the following link to install the extension:
     firefox extension
  2. click on Allow to proceed
     
  3. click on Install to start the installation
     
  4. restart Firefox

  Usage

  • Settings
    right click the movierok logo on the right bottom corner and choose "Select Settings..."
    
    
    select your movie folders and prefered movie player
    
    movierok will now scan your movie folders
    
    
  • Update and Rescan

    movierok will automatically recognize your movies. from time to time it will check for new movies, if you want to force this check or if there are any inconsitencies you can click on Rescann.

    Note that a rescann can take some time.

• Gnome Do Plugin

  The fast and simple way to search for your movies using Gnome Do.

  The plugin is an open source project developed by the movierok team.

  Requirements

  you need

  • Linux with Gnome and Gnome Do installed
  • movierok.ff installed

  Installation

  Until movierok.do gets into the official plugin repository for Gnome Do you have to do it the 'old school' way:

  • download xul and dll
  • put them into the plugin folder
    (e.g.~/.local/share/gnome-do/plugins or ~/.local/share/gnome-do/plugins-0.6.0)
  • restart Gnome Do

  Usage

  • Configure the plugin
    
    Set your movierok username and select your player. Now close the configuration window and wait some minutes (until indexing is finished).
  • Now start Gnome Do (e.g. super + space) and search for a movie title
  • you can play the movie or visit the rip page on movierok.org.
